The Video Preferences Window is used to configure video in BuddyVision.  If your BuddyVision™ video IS working correctly it is NOT recommend that you change these settings.  If you are having trouble with video or feel comfortable altering the video settings,  open the Video Preferences Window by choosing File --> Preferences from the BuddyVision™ menu.

If your Video Preferences window does not look like this, upgrade to latest version of BuddyVision™ to take advantage of the latest features and bug fixes.

The following controls are used to configure your Video in BuddyVision. 

  1. Camera Name Selector -  Lists cameras detected by your computer.  If more than one camera is installed on your system, you can use this box to switch to a new camera by clicking the check box next to the camera’s name.
  2. Settings Button -  Opens a window used to select a new video format or video size for the currently camera you are using.  We do not recommend that you alter these settings.
  3. Source Button and Display Button -  Controls the camera’s tint, brightness and more.
  4. Video Performance Choices -  BuddyVision™ offers two video engine choices.  Between the two choices almost all cameras are supported.  However, the Advanced Video Engine requires Microsoft DirectX 8 or higher.*

*The Advanced Video engine requires Microsoft’s DirectX 8.0 or higher to be installed on your computer.   If your not sure what version of Microsoft’s DirectX you have installed on your computer or for instructions on how to download and install the latest version of Microsoft’s DirectX please click here.
